How to apply for a Grant
- Check Eligibility.
- Check Timeframe for current closing dates for applications.
- Check Guidelines for information about how to make an application and the relevant support material necessary to accompany the application.
- Complete the Application Form.
All applications must be submitted using the provided Application Forms. This should be completed online or alternatively the application form can be downloaded (below) and saved to your computer. On completion, please forward this application, inclusive of any relevant supporting data, to:

Eligibility criteria for grants from the Foundation

- Your proposed program/ project complies with the mission of the Foundation by clearly demonstrating a commitment to advancing the education of girls and women within Victoria
- Your proposed program/ project complies with the Foundation’s grant guidelines
- Your organisation is based in Victoria

Timeframe
There are four grant funding rounds each year:

- February: Applications close 15 January
- May: Applications close 15 April
- August: Applications close 15 July
- November: Applications close 15 October

GRANT GUIDELINES
Mission
The primary focus of the Foundation is to advance the education of girls and women within Victoria.
The Invergowrie Foundation awards grants that make a significant impact on the education of girls and women in Victoria, enabling access, promoting excellence, advancing leadership and supporting research.
Interpretation of the Foundation’s mission:
a) Education: the enhancement of learning, and building capacity to support the learning of others; formal and informal
b) Excellence: the presence of qualities which have the potential to succeed and to have future impact

- Individual excellence as seen in academic and personal qualities
- Group excellence in programs

c) Girls and Women: Girls and women are to be the primary beneficiaries
d) Leadership: provides the capacity for action
e) Opportunity: grants which provide access to education for both disadvantaged and advantaged
f) Research:

- Research grants are awarded to support women to undertake research
- Supporting research which advances the understanding and development of learning

g) Victoria:

- The community organisation and its program participants must be based in Victoria

It is unlikely that your organisation will be successful in its application for a grant if:

- it cannot provide audited accounts
- it is primarily dependent on government funding
- it is applying for a project eligible for government funding
- it is a well-established, well-resourced organisation seeking funding for a mainstream project
- it is a commercial enterprise

The Foundation does not provide funds for the following:
Capital works; motor vehicle expenses; general fundraising appeals; films and videos; building works; core operating costs; deficit funding; political organisations; general staff salaries, or normal operation costs; books; computer equipment
Payment for specific project staff would be considered, however.
